What does Golden Beacon USA do?

Golden Beacon USA is a one-stop shop for information and services that immigrants and refugees to the U.S. need in order to acclimate to their new country. We offer educational videos on American culture and resources, ESL, career coaching, resource referrals, social forums, and Orientation and Resources Workshops.

Is it a nonprofit?

We are not a nonprofit.

Are your services free?

All of our services have a fee except the social forums. We try to keep our prices as low and affordable as possible.

I don’t speak English. Can I use your services?

Of course! We speak Spanish, but not fluently. For other languages or for those who struggle with the English language, it is the Client’s responsibility to have a translator present when engaging with our services.

I’m not an immigrant or a refugee. Can I still use your services?

Yes. No matter how long you’ve been in the US or if you were born here or in another country, our services are available to anyone and everyone.

In order to use your services, am I required to disclose my immigration status?

NO. We help anyone and everyone, including undocumented clients. The only instance where we would need this information is during a career coaching session or resource referral to check your eligibility to go to school, work, or use state or local programs. Your information is kept private and confidential. Please check our Privacy Policy for more information.

How do I make an account on Golden Beacon USA?

Click on ‘My Account’ in the upper right-hand corner of the site. Under ‘Register’, enter your e-mail address and create a password. Click ‘Register.’ You will receive a confirmation e-mail. After you have confirmed your e-mail address, sign in and you will be taken to the dashboard, where you can view and manage your orders, manage your shipping and billing information, and edit your password and account details. To create your profile on our social forums, click ‘Social Forums.’ From the drop-down menu, click ‘Members.’ On the right-hand side, click ‘Profile.’

How does the video subscription work?

Access our library of educational videos to learn about U.S. culture and systems, finances, transportation and educational options, immigrant resources, job search and employment and more! You can choose a monthly subscription or save over 50% with a yearly subscription. Both subscriptions provide you access to all of the videos in the library. Once you purchase a subscription, the video library will be accessible to you under ‘My Account.” Our library is consistently updated with new content, so be sure to check back frequently!

Does the subscription service automatically renew?

Yes. You will receive a reminder e-mail close to the renew date.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time through your user account. There are no refunds. If you cancel your subscription but there are still days or months left on it, you will not be refunded for that unused time.

Why can’t I download the videos from the subscription onto my own computer?

The videos are only accessible and viewable through your account on the Golden Beacon USA website. You cannot download the videos to watch on your personal devices.

What are the social forums?

Our social forums are a private place for immigrants and refugees to meet one another and share resources and advice. You can create your own profile, add a photo, start or add to a discussion, and more. Create a profile today!

I live in another country and would like to come to the U.S. Can you help me?

Yes. We can help you search and apply for jobs or educational programs, or find resources for you, such as an immigration lawyer. In addition to e-mails, we use WhatsApp to communicate. Please keep in mind, however, that we are limited in how we can help you from afar. We are not lawyers. We do not provide any legal services or advice.

Are you a lawyer and/or do you provide legal services?

No. We are not lawyers nor do we provide any legal advice, assistance, and/or representation. Questions about immigrating to the U.S. or any other related matters should be directed towards a licensed immigration attorney, which we are more than happy to help you find. Is my account information safe?

Yes! We are committed to the protection of the privacy of our users. Your information will only be shared to protect immediate risk of death, harm, or bodily injury, or risk to community, or as otherwise required by lawful court order. Please read our Privacy Policy to learn more.

Are your services available to organizations who help immigrants and refugees?

Yes, all of our services, including the video subscription service, are available on a contract basis for immigrant and refugee-serving organizations as well as for companies with foreign employees. Our Orientation & Resources Workshops are specifically tailored to such organizations and companies to help foreign employees or clients acclimate to their new community and learn about American culture. We also offer on-site presentations and webinars to organizations and companies who want to familiarize themselves with our mission and services. 

I’m thinking about going back to school. Can you help me with that?

Definitely! As part of our Career Coaching service, we’ll help you explore higher education options that align with your interests and goals and submit your applications.
